Alpaca

Sketched some alpaca off a TV show. They were showing how the shearing is done. Here they are all nice and woolly, and then so different looking after being shorn!

Hippo

Don't know if I've ever drawn a hippo before. I made the muzzle too small- it's actually wider than the rest of his face. Ballpoint pen.

Water Buffalo

Sketched last night while watching an episode of Big Cat Diary. At first glance they all look the same, big lumbering beasts, but then you notice the profiles are different, the shapes of the horns vary a little- younger ones have shorter, straight horns, males have a bigger boss (the thick part on top of skull), some are more curly than others.

Bugs

I don't usually draw bugs, but something about the myriad shapes intrigued me. Seen in a Nat'l Geogrphic article on biodiversity. Sketched a good dozen of them, only these two came out okay. One is some kind of miniscule aquatic crab (I drew the claws too small) the other an insect (a grashopper maybe?)
