imitation

is the highest form of flattery, I sometimes think. Here's two drawings my five-year-old made, copying my Chicken Lady painting which hangs on the wall. The first one she did all by herself, to surprise me.
The second one my husband drew the face, to show her how to make it in profile. She did the rest.
I think she did pretty good!

unicorns

Maybe this is silly, but I'm reading a book about how legends of unicorns were based on muddled descriptions of actual animals, wayyy back when. And just for fun I started sketching what the different descriptions brought up in my imagination. This one is "going berserk". See tag "unicorn" for more of them.

stegosaurus (kept getting the head too large, it's very very small in proportion!)
the flying one, pterosaur

seabird

I think this is another kind of booby. Saw it on a nature program where they showed how the finches peck the boobies to drink their blood.
